Alicia Borja discharged after a month

An A&E nurse who spent a month battling coronavirus was cheered by her colleagues as she was able to return home.

Alicia Borja, 63, a senior nurse, has worked in Northwick Park’s emergency department in Harrow for 15 years, and was discharged yesterday afternoon.

Ms Borja said: “I haven’t been able to see my daughters for a month so can’t wait to get home.

“I’m a nurse but it’s still scary to go through something like this. I was in tears because so many colleagues lined the corridors to wish me well. They are my second family.”
