A mother has claimed her baby's agonising eczema has miraculously cleared up in just one week with a best-selling body lotion from high-street cosmetics chain Lush.

Mother Sarah Rudd, 36, tried countless prescription medications including steroid cream hydrocortisone on her five-month old baby son Cash to no avail.

She documented his excruciating ordeal on Facebook, including pictures of his red and inflamed skin, and begged friends for advice on how to make him stop scratching all night.

After months of trialling various medications, the mother-of-five shared snaps of baby Cash’s eczema-free skin after just seven days of using Lush’s Dream Cream, which retails at £6.95 for 100g and includes soothing ingredients such as oat milk and rose water.

Mrs Rudd told the Standard: “After trying everything and seeing a doctor three times and a dermatologist – who just told me to keep a diary – I was recommended Dream Cream after writing a desperate plea on my fb to see if anyone had any suggestions.

“I put it on him on March 23 and it was clear almost 24 hours later. And it’s never come back!! I pop a bit on him very morning, it’s lovely stuff.

“Hopefully it will help someone else in the same situation! It’s cured my baby!” she added.

Baby Cash is seen happily holding the tub of Dream Cream in the new pictures posted to Mrs Rudd’s Facebook page, showing his clear and soothed skin.

The social media post has since gone viral and within 48 hours, sales of the product increased by a staggering 184 per cent.

Following the surge in sales, Lush wrote on Twitter: “Are you the sensitive type? Dream Cream is rich, cooling and protective to the skin, which gives great relief from skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.”

Another mother replied: “This cream was a life saver for my son. He was diagnosed with severe eczema at 3 months old. Dream Cream helped to soothe his skin (along with Cerridwyn's Cauldron bath melt), and at 17, his skin is almost perfect.”

While someone else raved: “The ONLY product I’ve used on my two-year-olds sensitive skin that doesn’t irritate.”
