Aldwych collision: Cyclist fighting for life after colliding with bus on the Strand

A cyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after he collided with a bus in the Strand.

The collision happened just after 5pm today, at the junction with Arundel Street.

The man, in his 40s, suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in the Strand.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the collision to come forward.

A Met Police spokesman said no arrests had been made.

Temporary road closures were put in place around the area, but have now been lifted.
