Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle rider and his pillion passenger, a ten-year-old boy, were killed in an accident in west London early today.

The pair, who are believed to be father and son, died at the scene after the motorcycle crashed in Gunnersbury Avenue, Acton at 1.50am.

Scotland Yard said the pair’s family had been told but they had not yet been formally identified.

A spokesman said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
