Missing: police say Chanelle Beasley could be in Romford of Chadwell Heath

A 12-year-old girl who went missing from her home in south London on New Year's Eve has been found.

Chanelle Beasley was last seen by her family at around 3pm on Tuesday at her home in Mitcham, although detectives believed her to be in Romford or Chadwell Heath in east London.

This evening the schoolgirl was found on a bus in Chadwell Heath and is currently being looked after at an east London police station, a police spokesman said.

Shortly after 4.30pm today, Merton Police tweeted: "Thank you for all your help regarding Chanelle Beasley. She has just been found and is now safe with police officers."
