A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash in south London tonight.

The man was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in a crash with a van in Crystal Palace.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene at 7.20pm and the man was taken to hospital.

Met police officers in Croydon said the victim suffered spinal, head and pelvis injuries but his condition was no longer life-threatening as first thought.

The crash happened at the junction of Church Road and Westow Street.

Croydon police posted a tweet online warning people nearby to avoid the area and a cordon was put up.

They said: “CHURCH ROAD at junction of WESTOW STREET. Serious road traffic collision, units dealing. Avoid the area.”
