A cyclist is fighting for his life after being knocked down in a hit and run.

The 23-year old is critical in hospital with head injuries after being knocked from his bike outside the library in Harrow Road, North Kensington.

The car drove off without stopping yesterday afternoon shortly after 1pm.

The car is described as being silver, although no other details area available.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: “Officers are appealing for anyone with any information about the car or its driver to contact them.

“They believe the car would have sustained extensive damage to its windscreen and damage to its nearside wheels.

“Officers are also keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision or to the car leaving the scene.

Witnesses are asked to call the Traffic Garage’s witness line on 020 8941 9011 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
