Dine out with the world’s best chefs at food awards

26 April 2012

Two Evening Standard readers are to be offered a chance to rub shoulders with the greats of global cuisine at next week’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony.

The event is seen as the foodie’s Oscars. Chefs whose restaurants have appeared in the 50 Best include Heston Blumenthal, Ferran Adrià and René Redzepi, head chef at Copenhagen’s Noma, the current No 1.

The ceremony, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, is normally closed to the public. But two tickets are being made available by Slow Food UK, which celebrates the importance of local, sustainable, artisan food.

The gift marks the inaugural Slow Food UK Award sponsored by Highland Park Whisky, which will go to restaurants that most faithfully embody slow food values.

The tickets are being auctioned by the Standard in aid of the Dispossessed Fund. The event takes place at London’s Guildhall on 30 April.

Offers, for one or both tickets, should be made by email to worlds50best@redleafpolhill.com by 3pm Friday.
