Electrical sub-station fire causes roads to shut in central London

A fire in an electrical sub-station has caused the closure of busy roads in Central London.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at office block Castlewood House, in New Oxford Street, just before 2.15pm this afternoon.

Nobody was in the building, at the time.

The incident has resulted in the closure of New Oxford Street in both directions between Tottenham Court Road and Bloomsbury Street.

Buses and traffic are on diversion.
