Paralympian Ellie Simmonds met young swimmers taking part in a gala to celebrate the reopening of a Thirties pool in Islington.

Simmonds, 18, showed her four medals, including two golds, from the London Games to some of the 140 primary school pupils at the Ironmonger Row Swimming Baths, left, and praised it as a “great facility”.
