A man who fell to his death from the seventh floor of the London Stock Exchange last month was named by police today as Christopher Woolnough.
Mr Woolnough, 56, from Braintree, Essex, died after landing on the lobby floor of the building in Paternoster Square shortly after 10am on Tuesday August 15.
Today his family issued a statement and his photograph saying : “Chris was a kind and caring family man who worked for 31 years at the London Stock Exchange, as the Service Desk Team Lead.
"He never married and didn’t have children of his own but was devoted to his three nieces and nephew. He would do anything for them.
“He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and girlfriend. The world has lost a kind, gentle and caring man.”
Officers from the City of London Police said they were treating his death as non-suspicious.
A London Stock Exchange Group spokesman said at the time: “We can confirm an incident where a London Stock Exchange Group colleague fell from an upper floor balcony and died.
“We will continue to offer them every support and cooperation possible.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of our dear colleague.”
