Elderly woman hit by lorry on Kensington High Street

An elderly woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after being crushed under a lorry in Kensington.

Witnesses said the woman, who is in her 70s, was struck by a lorry turning left from Kensington High Street into Young Street this afternoon.

Onlookers said her leg was crushed under the lorry.

Medics have been treating the woman in the road behind a blue tarpaulin.

Kensington High Street remains closed to traffic following the accident at about 2.40pm and police are warning of significant disruption.
