A cyclist has spread Christmas cheer by “drawing” a virtual 88-mile snowman across London.

Self-proclaimed “Strava artist” Anthony Hoyte, from Kent, took on the gruelling 10-hour trip using the exercise and route sharing app to create his festive masterpiece.

Mr Hoyte, from Cheltenham, has created several virtual doodles including a map featuring birds in Bristol which won first prize in the city’s Strava art competition in September.

Speaking about his snowman design, he told the BBC: “I wanted to do something festive but it ended up so big."

The artistic cyclist said he created the doodle on paper last year but fell ill and was unable to complete it.

Mr Hoyte added: "It took 10 hours, I spent the whole day doing it and did it all in one go," he said.

"I had to stop and find public toilets and went the wrong way a few times but it's so big no one's going to notice."

Among his other creations, Mr Hoyte completed an intricate face with a full head of hair in Wales.
