A huge blaze broke out at a warehouse in north-west London.

Dramatic images showed flames tearing through the building in Perivale, as thick smoked billowed into the sky.

Twelve fire engines and about 80 crew members were called to the fire at the warehouse in Wadsworth Road late on Wednesday night.

Firefighters battled the blaze the early hours of this morning after first being called out just before midnight.

Half of the first and second floors of a three-storey block were alight, London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.

Residents living nearby were advised to keep doors and windows closed.

The brigade’s 999 control officers took 28 calls to reports of the fire.

Fire crews from Wembley, Ealing, Acton, Southall, Stanmore, Park Royal and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

At 6.50am LFB tweeted that the fire was under control.

"The warehouse blaze in #Perivale is now under control, but crews will remain on scene throughout the morning damping down. There are no reports of any injuries at this stage", LFB said.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage..
