A scale model of the Elizabeth Tower has been refitted outside Victoria station after four years away from the busy rail terminal.

The Grade II listed tower was reinstated to its home at the junction of Victoria Street and Vauxhall Bridge Road on Sunday.

‘Little Ben’ was removed on January 28, 2012, while works were carried out around Victoria station and the clock tower was given a full restoration.

The clock was restored by Smith of Derby, who also refurbished it in the 1980s to celebrate the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.

Councillor Robert Davis, Westminster City Council cabinet member for the built environment, said: “I am delighted to see Little Ben back in Victoria, its original home since 1892.

“This remarkable restoration will be enjoyed by millions of people over the coming years and is a nod towards the special heritage of our great city.”
