Commuters faced severe travel disruption this morning after a raft of train cancellations and delays across London.

Signalling problems at Marylebone caused a host of cancellations on Chiltern Railways services from about 5.30am.

All trains between London and Banbury in Oxfordshire were affected, the railway said.

Engineers eventually fixed the problem but delays of up to an hour were expected to last until at least 10am.

Meanwhile, Southeastern services in south London were also severely hit by signalling issues.

There were a number of trains cancelled between Dartford and Victoria as a result of the problems, with disruption likely to continue until 10am.
