London’s best coffee shop was named as White Mulberries in St Katharine Docks.

The cafe beat hundreds of others put forward by Londoners as their favourite as part of the London Coffee Stops competition.

Popular: White Mulberries

Black Box in Shoreditch was named as the shop with the coolest baristas, while Aritsan in Putney took home the prize for best cakes and bakes at the awards which were held at Ozone in Shoreditch.

Chris Ward, a businessman who launched the awards after creating a Tube map signposting the best coffee shops in the city, said: “We were overwhelmed with the phenomenal response received by Londoners and the support from the coffee community who have fully embraced this event.

“It was great to see so much interaction between the coffee shops and the voting public from free coffee giveaways, free pastries and even free hugs – it just goes to prove how much of an integral hub these shops are for our communities and why they should be celebrated.”
