Londoners are in for a cloudy, soggy weekend but temperatures are expected to stay warm and the air muggy.
Showers are set to develop in the capital on Saturday, that could be heavy at times and with a risk of isolated thunderstorms during the early afternoon.
The maximum temperature is forecast to be 27C with the air humid, the Met Office said on Friday.
Showers will then die out in the evening but the cloud is expected to linger overnight with a minimum tempterature of 15C.
On Sunday the rain returns, moving in from the west during late morning. Again showers cloud be heavy at times, and possible thundery. A little breeze is forecast and a high of 25C.
The rain will continue through into Monday morning but winds will ease.
The wet weather will be a welcome relief for the UK after the driest July on record, and below average rainfall in 10 of the last 12 months
Water levels in rivers and reservoirs are much lower than usual, prompting a hosepipe ban for London and much of south England.

Last month was the UK’s fifth warmest August, with a mean temperature of 16.7C. Rainfall was 54 per cent of the August average for the UK overall.
Meanwhile, every month of this year has so far has been warmer than average in the UK, making it the warmest year in a series that goes back to 1884.
Four of the five warmest summers ever recorded in England have happened since 2003, as the effects of climate change are felt, the forecaster said.
The UK saw 582 hours of sunshine over summer - the greatest across southern and eastern areas of the UK.
Suffolk, Nottinghamshire, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Essex saw 2022 rank in the top three sunniest summers.
