London was hit by heavy rain overnight leaving at least one major road in the capital partially flooded.

The A40 at Mansfield Road near Park Royal in west London was shown submerged by water at 5.30am on Wednesday.

A Transport for London photo shows cars struggling to make their way through the heavy flooding.

The Met Office has warned there is more rain to come on Wednesday.

Showers are set to continue until just after 11am, replacing the glorious sunshine of Tuesday.

And, after a brief respite in the early afternoon, rain will start to fall again from around 4pm.

Despite the rainfall, temperatures are expected to climb to around 19C this afternoon.

Showers are expected to ease off overnight with warm, cloudy weather hitting the capital on Thursday.
