Londoners across the capital remarked on the gorgeous sunset that dazzled the skies on Saturday evening.

Stunning photos taken by people out and about last night show London bathed in a fiery orange glow.

Many people were left impressed with the colourful sky, with some calling it “stunning”, “gorgeous” and “spectacular”.

The beautiful colours make a change from last week’s heavy fog which descended onto the capital, grounding flights and obscuring some of London’s skyline.

Iconic London sites including St Paul's Cathedral were yesterday captured against the backdrop of the evening sunset, while others photographed the orange glow shining on busy traffic below.

Last week's plunging temperatures and freezing fog led to a string of atmospheric scenes being captured on camera across the capital.

Temperatures will rise to about 12C by Tuesday after heavy cloud and rain forecast for the capital.
