Greenwich crash: Man killed in lorry hit-and-run in south London

A man has been killed after he was hit by a lorry in Greenwich.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a pedestrian being hit in Bugsby's Way just after 3pm on Tuesday.

The man, who was in his early 50s, was pronounced dead shortly after officers arrived.

His next of kin have yet to be informed.

Police said the driver of the lorry failed to stop at the scene.

The road has been closed in both directions between Peartree Way and John Harrison Way.
