Huge crowds of fans turned out to see X Factor star Matt Terry with mentor Nicole Scherzinger on his homecoming gig in Bromley.
The 23-year-old singer was swamped by adoring supporters before his appearance at Bromley’s Market Square on Wednesday night.
Before he sang, the talent show finalist took a tour of the Intu shopping centre and was handed a certificate by the town’s mayor.
He also stopped to sign autographs and take selfies with fans before taking to the stage for a performance of I’m Your Man which was nearly drowned out by the screams.
Afterwards he tweeted: “That was insane!! Meeting all of you lot was just immense I can't believe it!!
“Your support tonight has blown me away!!!”
One fan tweeted afterwards: "What a day! Saw @MattTerry93 in Bromley!
"Also met his nan.. What a lovely lady! And she's taken my drawing of him, for him to sign."
Mr Terry made it to the X Factor final following a dramatic sing-off at the weekend, where the judges picked him over Emily Middlemas to go through.
The south London heart-throb has won the backing of idol Sam Smith in his quest to be the competition’s next winner.
Mr Terry first won over the nation with a rendition of Stand By Me by Ben E. King.
He told the panel: “Music is my passion and it would be a dream come true to make it through. It’s why I’m here.”
