Not just another day at the office

P26 Trendy Office

Bohemian workplaces a world away from the corporate drudgery portrayed in TV’s The Office are springing up in east London to serve young technology entrepreneurs.

The Trampery workspaces, in the tech hub east of the City, will be shared and open-plan. Tenants are encouraged to share ideas, rather than stay in their own private space.

Sites will open this year and next in St John Street, Clerkenwell, in partnership with ad agency Mother; London Fields, with Hackney Community College; and Old Street. Trampery was conceived by Charles Armstrong, 41.

In the original one in Bevenden Street, Shoreditch, tenants pay £330 a month to rent a desk with superfast internet and “as much bean-to-cup espresso coffee as they want. Interior design is “high-level lavish” with oak floor, Persian rugs and “helpful” garden gnomes.
