Pedestrian seriously injured in hospital after being hit by Mercedes in Swiss Cottage

A pedestrian is being treated for serious injuries in hospital this afternoon after he was hit by a Mercedes in north London.

The 56-year-old man was knocked down on Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage just before 11am today.

He was taken to a St Mary's hospital in Paddington to be treated for serious leg and head injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing a large amount of blood on the road following the accident.

Police are investigating. No arrests have been made.
