Pensioner in critical condition after being hit by BMW in Wembley

A pensioner is critically ill in hospital two days after she was hit by a BMW in Wembley.

The 76-year-old woman was knocked down in Harrow Road close to the junction with Clifton Avenue at about 9.15pm on Saturday.

She was taken to hospital by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service with serious injuries where she remains, Scotland Yard said today.

The BMW driver stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to speak to them.
