Romford crash: Man, 60, fighting for life after being hit by car

A 60-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Romford today.

The pedestrian was struck down on busy Rush Green Road, near Queen’s Hospital, at around 1.30pm.

Police officers and paramedics attended the scene and the man was rushed to an east London hospital, where he remains in a “critical condition”.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries. No arrests have been made.

The road was closed throughout the afternoon while emergency services dealt with the scene and it was reopened at 5pm.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation unit are now appealing for information and any witnesses.
