A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision in Sidcup, south east London.

Officers on patrol came across the injured man, believed to be in his 30s, on North Cray Road about 6.30pm on Wednesday and provided first aid.

Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance Service attended but despite their efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed, said police.

At this early stage, officers do not think that any other vehicles were involved and that the motorcycle may have crashed into a traffic island.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Catford are investigating.

Anyone with information or who may have dash cam footage of the incident is being asked to contact them on 020 8285 1574. Alternatively, call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD6191/29Jun.
