Social media was flooded with tributes to PC Keith Palmer as thousands lined to streets of the capital to say farewell to the hero police officer.

On Monday afternoon, the coffin of PC Palmer was taken from a chapel at the Palace of Westminster to Southwark Cathedral for a funeral ceremony attended by his heartbroken family.

The 48-year-old husband and father was stabbed to death as he tried to stop crazed killer Khalid Masood last month after the terrorist crashed into the gates of the Palace of Westminster before being shot dead.

Many people took to social media to pay touching tributes to the police officer as his funeral procession took place across a large swathe of central London.
