Stockwell crash: Motorcyclist in serious condition after collision in south London

A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after crashing with a car in south London.

The man was injured in a collision in South Lambeth Road, close to Stockwell Tube station, just before 4.30pm today.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "We were called by the London Ambulance Service at 4.26pm to reports of a motorcyclist in collision with a car in South Lambeth Road.

"Officers from LAS, London Fire Brigade and London's Air Ambulance attended the scene.

"The male rider was taken to a south London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition."

The road was temporarly closed while officers examined the scene.
