26 July 2013

At first glance this model seems to be sunning herself on a tropical beach.

But as the camera pans out, it reveals she has been enjoying the recent heatwave on a pile of sand aboard a Thames barge.

But as the camera pans out we find she's lying on a barge steaming down the Thames

The short film — titled Sun City — was made by London fashion label AllSaints. It was shot and edited in two days as the boat sailed up river.

The film was made in two days as London basked in high temperatures

The brand’s creative director, Wil Beedle, said: “We had the idea last Wednesday when it was 32C but, since London weather is unpredictable, we gave ourselves the challenge of shooting and sharing it within a week. Let’s hope it staves off the rain.”

Deceptive: the Allsaints film shows the model with the Thames, not the sea, sparkling in the background

The film will be shown on a loop at AllSaints’s Earlham Street branch, where a beach has been created using black sand from Iceland.
