Widow pleads for answers at inquest of academic knifed on family doorstep

Missed: Dr Jeroen Ensink with his wife
PA

The widow of an academic who was stabbed on his doorstep said their daughter “deserves answers” as his inquest started today.

Dr Jeroen Ensink, 41, was knifed in Islington in December 2015 on his way to post letters heralding Fleur’s birth.

Killer Femi Nandap, a student from Nigeria, admitted manslaughter and was detained indefinitely at Broadmoor Hospital in October 2016.

He was held in May 2015 for knife possession.

The charges were dropped six days before he killed Dr Ensink, a lecturer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
