A warm welcome for Romanians and Bulgarians

And still with the EU. Just before Christmas The Economist published an open letter to Romanians and Bulgarians, telling them they were welcome and “if you are really worried about prejudice, just pretend to be Italian”. How’s that playing out for them? Stanley Pignal, finance correspondent at The Economist, tweeted yesterday, tongue-in-cheek: “A bit surprised to arrive at the office and find 2 Bulgarians and 3 Romanians at my desk, filing stories for this week’s The Economist.” Would it improve the accuracy?
