Bryan Ferry turned crooner last night for the launch of his new album, The Jazz Age, at Annabel’s nightclub. The Roxy Music singer performed two numbers with the jazz band, with tunes arranged by Colin Good, before letting them play on while he tucked into his supper of lamb cutlets.

The paying members of the audience wanted to hear more of Ferry but his wife Amanda was on hand to explain. “It’s an instrumental album,” she said.
