Cameron sends the green revolution fracking

David Cameron writes in today’s Telegraph about his support for fracking, saying “the huge benefits of shale gas outweigh any minor change to the landscape” and that “we’re not turning our back on low carbon energy but these sources aren’t enough”.

The Londoner could not help but remember the picture of Cameron in 2006, then still green politically and in terms of experience, as he drove huskies to the North Pole to see glaciers melting. He promised a “green revolution and [to] recapture climate change from the pessimists.” The mantra was “Vote blue, go green,” inspired perhaps by his guru Steve Hilton. How times change. Vote blue, go fracking.
