Dressing down for Danielle de Niese’s hubby

Danielle de Niese, the Australian soprano kept the audience waiting for her performance at the Dover Street Arts Club on Saturday. “We arrived in a bit of a panic because my husband forgot to pack my dresses,” she disclosed. “What a disaster. You nearly saw a diva in jeans.”

Danielle was able to rustle up a suitably glamorous Donna Karan alternative for her recital, which covered all the bases from Greig to Gershwin. The organisers also inadvertently slipped up printing her entire programme, including the encore. “I recently performed a collaboration with LL Cool J,” de Niese told me. “I’d really like to work with David Guetta. I think what he does with electronic music is fascinating.”
