Enough of French cocks, give Nelson the company of his mistress instead

As if Lord Nelson on his column wasn’t enough of a phallic reference for Trafalgar Square, now we have the big blue cock by German artist Katharina Fritsch on the square’s fourth plinth.

So much for the cocks but what about the birds? One suggestion the Londoner heard among the crowd is that the fourth plinth should have a statue of Lord Nelson’s mistress Lady Hamilton.

A good idea, if only to hear Boris Johnson give the speech at the unveiling.
