The Beckhams’ return to London is gathering pace. David Beckham and his wife Victoria were spotted strolling down the corridor of the King Alfred School in Hampstead yesterday.
It is the latest sighting of the couple as they scour the capital for a suitable school for their children. They are expected to move back to London from the US after the former England captain’s five-year spell at LA Galaxy ended last month.
They are now searching for a school for Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 10, and Cruz, seven, and turned up a fortnight ago on a tour of the £6,000-a-term Harrodian school in Barnes. Their visit to King Alfred, an independent day school which takes pupils aged four up until 18, shocked pupils, who looked on in disbelief as the celebrities were shown around.
One said: “We were in the corridor and then they appeared, it was really strange and a bit of a shock. They were just strolling along and looking around the school. Everyone was talking about it — to see such famous people unexpectedly in your school is weird.”
The King Alfred school, which is on the edge of Hampstead Heath and charges £4,600 a term for seven-to 10-year-olds, describes itself as “progressive”, and presenter Jonathan Ross is among those whose children go there. Former pupils include TV presenter Gaby Roslin and actress Zoë Wanamaker.
