During the review of newspapers on this morning’s Today programme, discussion turned to Her Royal Thighness and pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge with her skirt blowing up in the wind. It was noted that the Queen avoided Marilyn Monroe moments by having her tailors put small lead curtain weights in her hems. “Is that perhaps why she is so short?” asked John Humphrys. “The weight drags her down?”
