Jools Holland: my wife wouldn't be the first girl to marry her father...

At last night’s opening of Rory McEwen’s The Colours of Reality exhibition at Kew Gardens’ Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art, Jools Holland observed the striking similarities he shared with his late father-in-law.

A consummate musician as well as an artist, in the Sixties McEwen presented the landmark folk and blues TV show Hullabaloo. Holland said that “when someone uncovered footage of the show about five years ago, my wife watched it and said ‘Oh my God, I married my father’. Of course, she wouldn’t be the first girl to do that.”
