BBC presenter Kate Humble says she is determined to bring back the iconic sheepdog show One Man and his Dog. “I’m on a one-woman mission to bring it back,” she told the Cheltenham Literary Festival. “Partly because I want to present it.” One Man and his Dog ran as a stand-alone show from 1976 to 1999, and at its peak regularly attracted eight million-plus viewers. But by the time it was axed as a series in 1999, figures had fallen to 1.5 million. Recently the BBC decided to incorporate it into rural affairs show Countryfile.
