Justice might be fair but fortune is not. Former Energy Secretary Chris Huhne and his ex-wife Vicky Pryce both served two months’ jail time for perverting the course of justice but since their release in May Huhne seems to have got back on his feet far faster than his former wife.

Just three months after leaving prison, he has not only landed himself a high-profile job at an American energy company but is now being asked to share his insights on climate change, energy and environmental policy with members of Cambridge University.

The Cambridge Public Policy initiative has invited Huhne to give a keynote address on September 5 as part of a module on policy and regulation.

Previous speakers at CPP have included Conservative politicians Lord Young and Iain Duncan Smith.

Huhne’s two-day-a-week job will earn him a generous salary.

Meanwhile, Pryce has been stripped of her Companion of the Order of the Bath honour, having been found by the committee to have brought the honour into disrepute. She has vowed to publish a book about her experiences, so maybe she will have the last laugh.
