It’s the backlash against the backlash. Pop-up Islington gallery Bread and Butter is running an impromptu show entitled Jimmy Savile is Innocent, which opens next Wednesday.

Artists have been invited to submit works on the theme, and the gallery is displaying a collage of recent newspaper cuttings about the late TV presenter and the sex abuse claims against him. “There’s been interest from artists,” says gallery founder David West. “No one has said anything out of fear, and now it’s gone full circle and over the top. We are trying to gauge what the public really feels.”
