Pippa Tips has nothing on @PrincessBea, 'the girl who should be queen'

Never let it be said the young royals aren’t at the cutting edge of all social trends. Princess Beatrice has been quietly hanging out on Twitter for the past year. Though HRH @yorkiebea has yet to tweet a word she has racked up an impressive 832 followers.

A palace spokesman said he didn’t know anything — “I don’t think it’s the sort of thing we would confirm or deny” — but Beatrice’s mother Fergie has sent tweets to the account and friends of the princess have included her in recent messages about what a blast they all had last week at Sam Branson’s South African wedding.

But so far the Twitter crown goes to @HRHPrincessBea, a fictional account of “the girl who should be Queen”. With 2,200 tweets and more than 2,500 followers, the fake Bea is definitely stealing the princess’s throne. Perhaps the real Bea should stand up and tweet back.
