Police lack faith in the Archbishop of Canterbury

The Archbishop of Canterbury reflected yesterday in the General Synod on one of the unexpected challenges of the role. “You turn up at Buckingham Palace to pay homage to the Queen,” he said, “and find the Changing of the Guard is taking place. You are due to see the Queen in 20 minutes but it is going to last 25 minutes and you can’t get through. A police officer asks what are you doing and you tell him ‘I’m going to see the Queen’ and he gives you a funny look. Eventually I got through because I had a daughter who was a police officer.”
