Tattoo for two

Today's Times carries a letter about the tattoo of the Jerusalem cross on Edward VII’s arm, acquired while he was asleep after a banquet in Jerusalem in 1862.

It’s from the official historian of the Conservative Party, Lord Lexden, who says Edward’s son George V was given the same tattoo by the same man 20 years later.

Lord Lexden has long adorned the letters pages with little known information. May he keep up the good work.
