Labour has been accused of being “institutionally racist” under Jeremy Corbyn in a tweet from the party’s official press account.

The post was quickly deleted and was followed by a message explaining that the account had been hacked.

The intial tweet read: "There we have it folks, proof if any was needed that the Labour Party IS institutionally racist and will be until Corbyn and his cronies go”.

After it was deleted, Labour Press Team posted: “This account was briefly hacked. It has now been re-secured.”

It comes after the party was forced to deny senior figures interfered with anti-Semitism complaints after fresh claims were made by BBC Panorama.

The Labour figures have been accused of interfering with a disciplinary process investigating claims of anti-Semitism in the party.

In a Panorama programme which aired on Wednesday night, communications chief and Jeremy Corbyn ally Seumas Milne and National Constitution Committee general secretary Jennie Formby were singled out for criticism.

Labour has denied the claims and written a complaint to the BBC.

A total of eight former Labour officials spoke to Panorama, including four who have signed non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) on the subject of anti-Semitism, according to the BBC.
