Theresa May ducked away after apparently thinking she was about to be struck in the face with a golden mace at London's Guildhall.

The Prime Minister , who was attending the Lord Mayor’s banquet at the City of London’s Guildhall, was caught on camera as she leaned back to avoid being hit.

She appeared to misjudge how close the item was to her face.

One person was quick to note that a similar incident had happened to Mrs May previously.

Another pointed out that the mace was nowhere near her.
