Cross-party MPs wore a small white rose at Prime Minister's Questions today to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.

Ahead of Theresa May facing questions in the House of Commons, several MPs shared images of themselves wearing the flowers in tribute for World Ovarian Cancer Day.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and Mrs May were both pictured wearing a rose, along with many other MPs.

Welsh Labour MP Nick Thomas-Symonds posted a photo of himself wearing a rose and wrote: “Today is World Ovarian Cancer day. A woman dies every two hours from ovarian cancer.

“Am on my way to PMQs where MPs will be wearing white roses to raise awareness.

“So important to promote knowledge of symptoms and driver forward research on treatment.”

Fellow Labour MPs David Hanson and Ruth Cadbury also said they’d be wearing white roses too.

SNP’s Alison Thewliss and Conservative MP Iain Stewart also said they would be wearing the symbolic rose today.

Commuters making their way through central London were also offered a white rose, as campaigners were offering the flower at London Bridge.

The first World Ovarian Cancer day took place six years ago, in May 2013.
