Prince George's school friends have reportedly given him this sweet nickname

No, it's not King George (yet)

Prince George is the only prince in his class, which might be why he's adopting a more low-key nickname when he's at school.

The 5-year-old prince, who attends Thomas's Battersea in south London, has reportedly been given a new moniker by his year 1 pals. The young royal has been dubbed "P.G." according to a mother of one of his schoolmates. She let Vanity Fair know about his new name in the magazine's deep dive into his "surprisingly normal kindergarten life."

Interest spiked after photos were released of the prince and princess with their cousins at the Burnham Horse Trials, where they were wearing more laid-back ensembles than usual (no knee socks in sight).

"He's very popular and has a lot of friends, and there's very little fuss made about who he is," the anonymous parent told VF.

The parent also shared that Prince William and Kate Middleton drop him off at the school regularly and take time to chat with other parents, proving even Royals can't get out of the school gate chat.

"William particularly loves to have a chat with some of the other parents and he works out with some of the mums at the Harbour Club after drop off. He’s very chatty and amiable," she said.

Apparently, PG already has his own regal clique, much like his new aunt Meghan Markle, who has amassed an all-star friendship group since relocating to the UK.

One squad member is his Royal cousin Maud Windsor, the daughter of Lord Freddie Windsor and Sophie Winkleman.

It's looking likely that his sister Princess Charlotte is going to join her brother at school this September. She already has her own nickname so probably won't need one from her schoolmates.

Her mother has reportedly dubbed her "poppet" - but maybe she can join her big bro's crew and be "P.C."
