Music shop suffered severe flooding, but community spirit got them up and running again

The shop and café was today finally getting back to normal after massive damage from flooding as firefighters battled a fire which destroyed the shop next door after rioters torched it.

Alex MacGillivray, whose father founded the business more than 30 years ago, said: "The big Clapham Junction clean-up was great and people have been contacting us on Twitter and Facebook, asking if we are OK.

"When the fire started I thought our shop was finished. There was thousands of pounds of damage when the water from the fire crews flooded the basement and hit our stock.

"But there is a real sense that people are trying to come together to help each other out. It has quieter than usual over the past few days, because there are fewer people around but we are definitely open for business!"
